πŸ’› IKIGAI: Happiness In Everyday Life πŸ’›

🌼 My Ikigai 🌼

April 29, 2020. As we are still quarantined and  don't really know what to do and a little confused. If you are here reading this, it's because you want to feel better, you want to make a little change but don't know how to start. I don't pretend to have the answers to all your questions, but this article's title is an indication to what I am going to share with you.

🌼What is the "IKIGAI" ?🌼
Ikigai is a japanese philosophical concept, it is the definition of "true happiness". Ikigai is about the little, daily habits that everyone of us has, and how these little habits can bring us so much joy and satisfaction. Each one of us has their own "Ikigai": Dancing to your favorite song, choosing a fruit over a cookie, reading a good book, watching a good movie, talking to a friend, cuddling...ect. We usually attribute happiness to certain things such as; a big event like "marriage" or "graduation", promotion, giving birth..ect. there is no doubt that these big events are very joyful but how many times do you get married? how many times do you graduate? It's mostly once in a life time or very few times, and happiness is not only one fleeting moment, it can be in everyday life. IKIGAI is about training your mind to see the blessings that most people ignore: a sunny day ☀️ a conversation with a friend πŸ’‘ a relaxing shower πŸ›€ a walk in the woods 🌳🌳
If you think that your daily routine is stressful and draining, try to include 1 to 3 joyful activities to do everyday, and another thing you can do is write down a list of all the things you are grateful for before you go to sleep, try to find a new thing each day, this way you train yourself to be more GRATEFUL so you can experience happiness everyday.

Ikigai gives a whole new understanding of happiness, it gives us hope even in the darkest times of our lives. No matter how much we might be struggling, it is always possible to find one thing, one thought, one person or one activity that brings us joy, we hold on to it and it leads us to more blessings.
