♡ What is Ramadan?? ♡
Ramadan?? What is Ramadan? Isn't that a month in which muslims fast? But what is fasting anyway??
Well.. yeah it is right, Ramadan is a month, it is not a person or a God. Muslims wait for Ramadan eagerly because it brings them joy and it brightens their lives, one thing we all know about Ramadan is that people fast during the whole month which means they musn't eat or drink during the day from sunrise to sundown. But there are many things that people don't know about this blessed month, it is so much more than a "severe diet" as some people see it.
The most important thing is: "Getting closer to God" and that is through *prayer*, reading the *Holly Quran* and *Zakat* which means (charity) which could be done in many ways: giving a particular amount of money to the poor, feeding homeless people/sick people in hospitals, buying toys and clothes for orphans...ect, each person has their own way of putting a smile on others' faces.
Another thing that muslims LOVE about Ramadan is the "Iftar" which is the time for eating after a long day of hunger. Mothers and daughters show off their cooking skills during the whole month, traditional dishes are very famous in Ramadan and they differ from one country to another, "Bourek" which is a traditional dish in Algeria is the king on the Iftar's table, it is delicious and crispy, most Algerians eat it every single day along with "Shourba" which is a healthy vegetables' soup.
After the Iftar, time for "Sah'ra" begins which is the time after Iftar, everyone loves Sah'ra time so they can enjoy their "dessert" while watching TV, others who still follow traditions gather with their neighbors to enjoy the Sah'ra together chatting, laughing and catching up ♥
