☆ All The Bright Places ☆
All The Bright Places is a novel written by Jennifer Niven, it tells the story of a teenage boy Theodore Finch and a girl named Violet Markey who meet on a ledge in high-school, both are sick of life and attempting to commit suicide but each has different reasons..
WARNING: (This is not a review of the book, there might be some spoiling ^-^)
I have finished reading this master-piece few hours ago and I am still carrying its heavy weight on my shoulders so I thought of writing about it a little bit, I started reading it few weeks ago and I have fallen in love with Theodore Finch, his blue-blue eyes and his weird behavior ♥ I am in love with the way he tried to help Violet though he needs more help than she does, the way he changed her life. But what I really liked about the book is the message that the author aimed to convey through this story and that is "to ask for help instead of swallowing the pain" NO ONE should ever put up with a mental illness on their own especially at such a young age, there will always be someone out there who "understands", someone who "has been there"
Theodore's had a rough childhood which played a role in causing him Depression but he would never talk about how he feels because he doesn't want to be labeled as: "depressed boy", "mentally disturbed", "suffering from a disorder"... ect as well as he doesn't want anyone to see the messed up side of him. However, he tries his best to bring a smile back on Violet's face who has been grieving her older sister's death. Theodore succeeds in making Violet happy again but what Violet doesn't know is how broken Theo is, how empty he is and that all he is thinking about is ending his life.
I was lying on the couch reading the book, and I can say that I have never in my life sat with my head in between my knees sobbing for reading a passage from a book, believe me no book has ever done this to me, not even The Fault In Our Stars.
It made me want to hug every single person in this world who is suffering from any sort of pain, but really we cannot do that but there are a thousand ways to help people and that could be by writing (like the author did), talking to them & letting them know we are here for them, or the least we can do is: "praying" and that's what I did once I turned the last page of the book.
